Positive Quote for the Week-True love
“True love is when your relationship can go through the fiery furnace and instead of your love breaking, it emerges even stronger!” Erica Willis
One of the biggest misconceptions that people often have is that relationships don’t take any work. That it is going to be peaches in cream and nothing in between for the duration of your relationship. People don’t truly understand the consistent effort that it takes to make a marriage successful.
You have to be willing to look at yourself in the mirror and know that you are not perfect and that you will need to change certain things about yourself. You will need to learn how to compromise and know when you need to put the other person’s feelings before yours. If you are just focused on yourself: your feelings, your wants, your needs, and your desires; it will not work.
One of the things that I struggled with was allowing my husband to be the head of our household. I had been the head of my household for so long that I had to understand that this role was now his and be okay with it. My relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ definitely helped me learn how to be a submissive wife that was a help and not a hindrance to my husband.
Relationships go through ups, downs, and everything in between. Never think for a moment that they don’t require consistent effort, communication, and dedication. Real relationships can not only withstand the fire but come out stronger!
Some Scriptures that you can meditate on during adversity are:
- 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—“
- Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
- 1 Peter 5:10 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
- Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
- 2 Chronicles 15:7 “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”
- Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
- Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
