Positive Quote for the Week: Do Not Let Temptation Overtake You

It is inevitable we are all going to be tempted by one thing or another. Trust and believe the enemy is not going to tempt you with something unless he knows it is one of your weaknesses. He has monitoring demonic spirits watching what we do, gathering information, and listening for the things that we say. They are looking for ways that they can legally create chaos in our lives.

God is faithful and will make a way for you to escape. The moment that you became a Christian, the Holy Spirit came to dwell on the inside of you. He is the One that is going to help you stay on the right path guiding you into all truth, John 16:13. He will give you that nudge in your spirit when you’re doing something contrary to the Lord’s Word that can possibly lead you into temptation.

The Sprit of God is often times underestimated and misunderstood as far as the vital role that He plays in the lives of every believer. We need to learn to listen for that still small voice. Another thing that we must do is remain vigilant, watching, and praying because our flesh is continually weak but the Word of God says that our spirit (spirit man where the Spirit of God dwells) is willing, Matthew 26:41.

The Lord has given us scriptures that we can use to battle against the devil when we are enticed to do something that is going to hinder our walk with Christ.  He has and will continue to make a way of escape, submit to God and the devil will flee, James 4:7. Always keep in mind, the more you follow the Lord and His ways the easier it will be to prevent strongholds from developing.

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Psalm 119:11 “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
