Positive Quote for the Week-Don’t hate, congratulate!
“Never hate, but congratulate when your brothers and sisters receive their blessings!” Erica Willis
It can be a challenging thing to be happy for the people around you that are getting blessed left and right while you are still waiting for your prayer to be answered. It seems like you’ve been crying out for the same thing forever and nothing has changed! Be excited for those that are getting blessed because what that means is that the Lord is still in the business of rewarding His children and you could very well be next.
One of the worst things that you can do is develop jealousy and envy for other people’s blessings. Romans 12:15-16 are some of the best Scriptures that you can meditate on regarding what your heart posture towards others should be. Paul reveals, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”
God is letting us know that as believers of Jesus Christ we should be rejoicing with our brothers and sisters and not hating on their prayers being answered. The fact of the matter is that you don’t know the warfare a person had to face to get to where they are now. We need to encourage, uplift, congratulate, and applaud when another person is being blessed.
Make it a point to use those moments as perfect opportunities to develop your own faith. What does the Word of God say about your situation and what are you believing the Lord for? Stand firm on His promises as you begin to speak and proclaim them over your life! The same way that He blessed those around you, is the same way that He can bless you too!
Scriptures on be happy for others
Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.”
Romans 15:2 “Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
Mark 12:31 “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up.”
