Positive Quote for the Week: Don’t Let the Stress get the Best of You

“No matter how stressful things get, the Word of God has the power to help you overcome!” Erica Willis
The most powerful way to combat the stress in your life is to meditate on the Lord’s Word. It is living and powerful and sharper than any double-edged sword, Hebrews 4:12. When you meditate on the Bible, it diminishes those feelings of panic, restlessness, agitation and depression. Scripture has a way of completely renewing your entire frame of mind, Romans 12:2.
It will bring you a peace beyond comprehension and lessen those emotions that the enemy will use to attempt to dominate you. Don’t wait until your stress is attacking every aspect of your life to get into your Word. You want to have it already saturated in your heart and mind. That way, when the storms of life come, because they will, you will have God’s Word to keep you grounded.
One thing is clear and that is that the enemy loves to take your stress and multiply it if you let him. Do not fall for his devices but instead combat every fiery arrow that the devil throws your direction with God’s Word. We are supposed to cast down every thought that is contrary to the Scriptures because if we don’t those thoughts will saturate your heart and eventually develop into strongholds.
Scriptures about reducing stress:
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
Psalm 34:4-5 “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
