Positive Quote for the Week: Know Your Worth
“You set your own boundaries, know your worth!” Erica Willis
You set the precedence right off the bat of how others are going to perceive you. Make it a point to hold yourself to a high standard meaning that you control how others talk to you, treat you, and view you. It is important that you are demonstrating the fact that you are a child of God with plenty of value. What that means is not allowing other people to talk down to you.
You have to make sure that you are not being treated disrespectfully. What you allow a person to do to you sets the tone for the rest of that relationship whether it is with a friend of potential partner. If you let others speak to you any kind of way they will continue to do so. It is so important that you know who you are and Whom you belong to because that really does make a difference.
One area where people often allow their worth to be devalued is regarding intimate relationships. We are visual people and often times we base our connection with another person solely on the way that they look. This is the worst thing that you can do when searching for a partner. God is clear that if we come to Him and trust His will for our lives He will direct our paths, Proverbs 3:5-6.
As believers it is essential that we get in the habit of coming to the Lord in prayer about everything. He will put that check in your spirit if the person that you are getting close to is not for you whether it is a friend of potential spouse. It is then up to you whether or not you heed to His still small voice.
Scriptures on having self-worth
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Luke 12:7 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Psalm 139:14 “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
