Positive Quote for the Week: Silence Negative Voices

The best way to overcome your negative thoughts is to face them head on. Having an understanding of where they are coming from is vital for you receiving your freedom. What we do know is that the devil came to steal, kill, and destroy, (John 10:10) but the Lord came that we would have life and life abundantly.

One of the reasons that Jesus died on the cross at Calvary was so that we could live our lives free from the snares of the devil. So if you are not sure whether or not the thoughts that you are having are from the Lord reference the passage of Scripture found in Philippians 4:8. It states, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

God is telling us to meditate on these things and all of those things are all found in His Word. There are so many verses that you can reflect on that will help you change your entire frame of mind. The enemy wants you to contemplate the thoughts that he is projected your way in the hopes that you will accept them as your own. The devil is a liar and the father of lies. You need to get into the habit of counterattacking every negative thought that the devil sends you with the Word of God.

The Lord is very clear that He wants us to renew our frame of mind not conforming to the World and their ways. Romans 12:2 details “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” So if you are having thoughts that are contrary to God’s perfect will for your life then you know that they are not from the Lord so cast them down!

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Proverbs 28:26 “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.”

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”

Matthew 15:11 “Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
