“Learn from the battle that you just came out of, so that you won’t struggle with the battle up ahead!” Erica Willis

One thing that we know for sure beyond a shadow of a doubt is that we are all going to go through trials and tribulations regardless if we are believers of non-believers. Often times, we go through battle after battle after battle and it seems like there is no end in sight. To say that it can be frustrating and overwhelming is an understatement.

The question you want to ask yourself is why am I still going through the same trials over and over again? Could it be that you haven’t learned the lesson that the Lord is trying to teach you? A lot of times the Lord will test us to see if we are truly digesting and marinating on His Word. Everything that we will ever need to live a victorious life is found in the Scriptures.

So, God will often test our faith to see if we are ready for the next level that He wants to take us to. There is no way that you are going to be able to sustain the battles that are up ahead if you are struggling to overcome the ones that you are facing right now. Remember, our spiritual maturity is supposed to be growing continually as Christians which often times require that our faith be tried.

The Lord wants us to be prepared for every battle that we will ever go through. So, if you aren’t learning the lesson that He is trying to teach you, you just might have to go through that trial again. What I do when I feel like I am going through adversity in my life where there seems to be no end, is I lean on the Lord’s Word to give me the strength to endure.

A couple of Scriptures that I meditate on are:

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

I can remember when I was really going through some of the worst storms in my life that I had ever had to face; the Lord would bring these Scriptures to my remembrance. I would meditate on them and they would give me peace, strength, and would give me the drive to keep pressing forward no matter what!

Some other Scriptures that you can meditate regarding facing trials and tribulations are:

1 Peter 5:10 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

1 Peter 1:6 “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.”

James 1:2-3 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”

Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”
