When you are searching for your king or queen your first step should be to develop a strong relationship with Christ (the King of all kings). He is the One that will make sure that someone that is worthy of your affection will come into your life and make it better. A lot of times we want to take matters into our own hands instead of trusting that the Lord has the right person for you.

So, what ends us happening is you start superficial relationships with people that don’t have your best interests in mind. Instead of leading you closer to Jesus Christ, they end up pulling you away from Him. Instead of enhancing your life, they end up causing more damage.

One of the main mistakes that a lot of us make is that we choose partners based on their outward appearance instead of looking at their heart. Before you know it, you are in a full blown relationship with the wrong person because you were looking for the wrong things. You failed to seek the Lord for His guidance.

The Lord’s Word tells us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). What that means is that we are to pray before we do anything. When you put Him first, everything else will fall right into place. He will make sure that the right person comes into your life. He or she will be a help and not a burden, a blessing and not a curse on your life.

The right person for you will never reinjure an already damaged scar, but what they will do is love you so much that you will forget that it was there in the first place. Place your trust and faith in the Lord and put Him first in everything that you do and you will have your king of queen that will genuinely love you for you!
