How to share your testimony
Your personal testimony is something that nobody can take away from you. People can challenge your views on Scripture but one thing that they cannot challenge you on is your personal witness of how you came to know that Lord Jesus Christ. A lot of people know who God is but don’t truly know Him because they do not have a personal relationship with Him.
That is why it is so significant that you share your story with other because it lets them know that the Lord is still as real today as He ever was. He does not change and never will. When you tell people how you were powerfully transformed to the Christian that you are today from what you used to be it gives them hope that it is possible for them too!
One of the mistakes that we often make is we will dilute our testimony. We won’t keep it 100 % out of fear of what other people will think. The Lord wants us to be completely genuine without leaving anything out. You never know what the person that you are sharing with is going through. They might be facing the same exact trial or tribulation that you endured before you got saved.
You are doing them a disservice if you leave pieces of your testimony out. When I first began to share my story with others I was hesitant to tell people exactly what I went though. I was getting attacked spiritually and a lot of people don’t know anything about the spiritual realm or believe it even exists so it was a struggle for me.
As I began to write about my testimony the Lord was very clear with me that I was to tell my entire story without leaving things out. I started to realize that there are so many people that are dealing with demonic oppression and have no idea what they are fighting.
I decided to make it my mission to share information with as many people as I can in the hopes that it will prevent them from enduring the same oppression that I suffered for almost four years. Never underestimate the power of your testimony, it can literally be a life or death situation.
I am going to go over some of the main ways that you can share your testimony with others.
Share with authenticity
One of the worst things that we can do as Christians is water down our testimonies. It doesn’t reveal how powerful the Lord truly is. No matter how traumatic or crazy you might feel like your story is, never be ashamed to share it with others. The enemy will make you feel like you shouldn’t keep it 100% by planting fear and doubt in your mind.
He knows that there is so much power in your testimony and hates when you tell others about the amazing God that you serve. It shows how weak his kingdom is compared to the Lord’s Kingdom. We have the power through the Holy Spirit and the Name of Jesus Christ to break any demonic chain that the devil will ever try to put you in.
Your authentic testimony will prove that fact. There are so many people that are secretly suffering in silence because they think that they are the only ones that have ever gone through what they are going through. This is a master plan that the enemy establishes, he wants you to remain isolated so that you feel like there is absolutely no hope for you to get free from the demonic oppression that you are in.
That is a lie from the pit of hell. I was so bound by the enemy mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically and I thought that I was never going to make it out alive, but God. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to tell others about what the Lord has done for you. You were once blind but now you can see. You have been completely transformed and He renewed your entire frame of mind. People need to hear your truth!
Share with Love
One of the things that you want to make sure that you are doing when you are sharing your testimony with others is that you are doing it with love. You don’t want to come across like you are passing judgement. Remember, there are people that are so deep in sin that it will take you aback. In those instances, you want to radiate the love of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 4:8 states, “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.” Unconditional love will have the ability to overlook the sin that others are in and love them past it. The Lord also discloses in Colossians 3:14, “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”
Love is the bond that allows you to display compassion and understanding to those that are going through things in their lives that they are ashamed of. Most of the time when you share your raw and undiluted story with other people, they will want to do the same. Be mindful of your facial expressions and the words that you choose in those moments, you might be the only person that can lead them to Christ.
We are the Lord’s representatives her on Earth to show unbelievers Who He is and what it looks like to be a Christian. God is absolute love and He expects us to show love to others just like He shows us love. If someone is being vulnerable enough to share their testimony with you and you see them becoming emotional, give them a hug along with words of encouragement. Love really does go such an extremely long way!

Share with Scripture
One of the most powerful things that you can do while sharing your testimony is to share Scriptures. The Word of God is living and powerful, Hebrews 4:12. People need to know that the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever more! So, what that means for them is if He did it for you, He can do it for them too!
The Lord’s Word is saturated with His promises. The problem is a lot of Christians don’t really take the time out to read the Bible much less share Scriptures with others. God’s Word is literally your double-edged Sword and the people that you are sharing your testimony with need to know that the Bible can help them overcome the schemes of the enemy. I remember when I was so oppressed I could not even think clearly, I didn’t know any born again believers let alone anyone that could help me fight the devil using God’s Word.
Luckily, we have been given the amazing gift of the Holy Spirit Whom showed me how to fight the devil back with my Sword. I digested the Bible morning, noon, and night and by the grace of God I was completely set free from every demonic stronghold that the enemy had me bound in!
When you share your story with other people, nine times out of ten they are going through something in their life. That is why it is so important that we share the Word of God as we share our testimonies because they need to know how to get themselves free from whatever they are facing.
I have many articles that go into detail on demonic oppression and how to break free from the devil’s devices: The Spiritual Laws of God-Poverty Part 1, The Spiritual Laws of God-Poverty Part 2, The Spiritual Laws of God-Restoration, The Spiritual Laws of God-The General Principles, The Spiritual Laws of God-The Power of Your Tongue!, and The Spiritual Laws of God-Having an Understanding.
Share warfare Scriptures as well as Scriptures about the Lord’s promises. Teach them how to stand on God’s Word as the absolute Truth because it is! Explain to them how you overcame the schemes and the wiles of the devil. Teach them how to put on the Armor of God and fight back! The enemy is a defeated foe and too many people let him have his way wreaking havoc in their lives!
Conclusion
Your testimony is your personal story of how you came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. You want to make sure that you don’t water it down because that takes away from how powerfully the Lord interceded in your life. There are several ways that you can share your testimony with others.
You want to keep it 100 % without sugar-coating anything, you want to make sure that you do it with love, and you want to share the Word of God with others as you tell them your story. Never underestimate how powerful your words are to people that are going through the same thing that you went through.
They need to know that no matter what they are enduring right now, there is always hope! That hope is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:18 states, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” Never be ashamed to share your story with anyone that you can, it just might be the one thing that will lead them to Christ!
