Positive Quote for the Week-Be kind!
“Life is a chain reaction, be cautious about how you treat people. What you put out; you will receive.” Erica Willis
Over and over again there are verses of Scripture that the Lord gives us about how we are to treat others. As Christians, it is our responsibility to share the Lord’s amazing love to everyone that we meet. It won’t always be easy because there are people out there that will test your patience because of the level of disrespect that they operate in.
Don’t take it personally! Remember life is completely spiritual and negativity is a product of the enemy. He will use people that you come across with to cause you to become angry, bitter, and develop hatred because what that will do is hinder your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why the Lord is so adamant about you loving even your enemies. Luke 6:27-28 details, “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.”
He consistently warns us about how we are to treat our brothers and sisters. It has nothing to do with Him wanting us to just accept ill-treatment from others. The reason that He wants us to love our neighbor as ourselves is because He wants us to reveal to others the love of Jesus Christ. He is absolute love.
He doesn’t want His children to get caught up in the devil’s trap. When you allow yourself to get angry, bitter, and develop unforgiveness in your heart, he has you right where he wants you. Give your battles to the Lord. Trust and believe me when I tell you that He has a way to avenge the people that are doing you wrong in such a way that they will never want to harm you again.
Life is all about choices and how you choose to treat others is one of them. You have never walked a day in someone else’s shoes and if you did, you wouldn’t have a clue what to do. Everyone is going through something in their lives that you know nothing about. Make sure you choose love above hate, all day every day!
Scriptures that you can meditate on regarding loving those that don’t show love back:
- John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
- John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
- Romans 13:8 “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.:
- 1 John 3:11 “For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”
- 1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”
- Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.”
- Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
