Positive Quote for the Week-Overcome, Outshine, and Conquer!

Unfortunately, nobody is exempt from the attitudes of this world. What is going to truly make all the difference is how you handle someone’s disrespect when it is projected towards you. You can choose to allow it to completely ruin your day or you can pray that the Lord will give you strength to sustain you in that moment. The thing is you really don’t know what’s going on with that person behind closed doors.

One thing that I have learned when dealing with another person’s hateful demeanor is that there is always an underlining reason as to why they are exhibiting those behaviors in the first place. A verse that describes this perfectly is Proverbs 23:7 when the Lord states, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”

God is letting us know that a person that is filled with hatred, anger, animosity, and bitterness is going to emit those emotions onto others. It is a direct reflection of the condition of their heart. The Lord wants us to radiate His love no matter the circumstance, Colossians 3:14. You might be the one and only person in their life that has ever showed them love of any kind.

Can you imagine the impact that you can have on a person when you choose to love on them when they are throwing hatred at you? It would boggle their minds! They won’t be able to understand how you are able to keep your composure considering the circumstances. This is the perfect opportunity for you to be a witness for Jesus Christ because it is only by the Power of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you that you are able to refrain from wanting to retaliate!

So, in those moments that the enemy wants to use those around you to get you to get into that negative space with them:

Overcome: Overcome those negative thoughts that want to creep into your mind with the power of God’s Word. Don’t let the enemy cause you to ruin your witness for Jesus Christ, we are His walking testimony!

Outshine: Outshine that darkness with the light of Christ. Put that person that has such a horrible attitude on your prayer list and begin to pray for them daily. Watch how the Lord with work on your behalf and turn that situation around in your favor.

Conquer: Conquer the plan that the enemy is stirring up against you by allowing God to handle your enemies for you. God is clear about taking matters into your own hands. Romans 12:19 states, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Romans 13:8 “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.:
1 John 3:11 “For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”
1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”
Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.”
Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
