Positive Quote for the Week-Stay away from all idol worship

“Don’t allow any idol worship of any kind get in the way of your relationship with the Lord!” Erica Willis

The passage of Scripture that I want to highlight is Deuteronomy 5:9 and it states, “you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.” Here we can see that the Lord is telling us that those that serve other gods will result in a generational curse visiting generations even down to the third and fourth generation.

Make no mistake about it; this Biblical law is still very active today. The Lord did not do away with it. That is why it is important that when you renounce the sins that you committed, you also want to renounce the sins of your ancestors. Verbally speaking out your disconnection with a covenant that they may have made with the devil will break its legal right in your life.

God does not play any type of games when it comes to idol worship or the worship of other gods. He will not share His glory with anyone or anything as He shouldn’t. He is our Heavenly Father, Creator of the World and He deserves all the praise, honor, and glory simply for Who He is! You put yourself in a very bad spot when you allow idols of any kind to get in the way of you and the Lord!

Scriptures on Idol Worship

Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”

Leviticus 19:4 “Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 27:15 “Cursed is the one who makes a carved or molded image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ “And all the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen!”

1 Corinthians 10:14 “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.”

1 John 5:21 “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”
