Positive Quote for the Week-Renew Your Mind

“One of the first things that you want to do as a believer of Christ is to renew your mind by the Word of God!” Erica Willis

When you become a believer of Jesus Christ, the first thing that you want to do is renew your mind by the Word of God. The Lord is clear in Romans 12:2 when the Apostle Paul states, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

One thing that you have to keep in mind is the fact that you are now a new creation and the old you is no longer you, 2 Corinthians 5:17. That is going to require a complete shift in the way that you think, act, and live your life as a new born-again Christian.

The best and most effective way to change your mentality is by consuming the Word of God. It is Powerful and Living and can help you transform your frame of mind. The enemy is not going to let you go easily and is going to try every way that he can to lead you back into your old life of sin. Luckily, the Lord has provided you with a scripture that will completely counteract every arrow thrown your direction.

As a believer of Jesus Christ, you have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. One of His primary functions is to bring the Word of God to your remembrance when you need it the most, John 14:26. I cannot express to you enough how important it is to study your Bible daily, this is your double-edged Sword. As you immerse yourself more and more into His Word, you will begin to have scripture stored up to combat against the enemy’s attacks.

Scriptures on renewing your mind

Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Ephesians 4:23 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”

Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”
