Positive Quote for the Week-Safeguard your Mind

Safeguard your mind

“When you fail to safeguard your mind you are creating an open-door for the enemy to come in to steal, kill, and destroy!” Erica Willis

The words “of salvation” are the Greek word sōtērioswhich means the hope of future in salvation. In other words the Lord is conveying to us that it is vital that we stand on the free gift of eternal life through salvation because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. The enemy will try to make you question your salvation and that is why this piece of armor is so significant!

The battlefield has and always will be in your mind. The devil will use negative emotions as a way to infiltrate your thought process so that he can hinder your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. He will use thoughts of depression, suicide, anxiety, fear, unbelief, doubt, and so many others so that you will begin to lose hope in your salvation.

Another one of the devil’s schemes is to bring about confusion in your mind. His goal is to confuse you about whether or not you are truly a child of God, whether or not you have authority over him, the assurance of your salvation, and whether or not you can actually stand on God’s Word. When you safeguard your mind what that does is protects your mind from your emotions getting in the way of what is fact and truth which is only found in the Word of God.

Living in the assurance of salvation requires:

Believing wholeheartedly in the Word of God and Believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Scriptures on Safeguarding your Mind

Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.”

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
