Positive Quote for the Week-Your Prayer Life Matters

Your Prayer Life Matters

“Prayer is so important, it is literally communication with your Heavenly Father!” Erica Willis

Prayer is communication with your Heavenly Father; it is when you set time aside devoted specifically for Him and Him alone. It is a two way conversation meaning that you don’t want to just come to Jesus asking for things that you need or want but coming to Him asking Him what He would have you to do. It is seeking His will and guidance so that you are walking in your divine purpose.

You most definitely want to express to Him what you desire Philippians 4:6-7 explains that you want to make your requests made known with prayer and thanksgiving. You are to worry about nothing but instead pray about everything Matthew 6:34. However, that should not be what is used to lead the introduction to your prayers.

Remember, you are conversing with the Lord and you want to interact with Him as much as possible. Prayer also ties into spiritual warfare because when we pray, we are activating God’s Power allowing us to be effective against the attacks of the enemy. During those moments when you have those disturbing feelings, are getting physically bombarded, or emotionally taken over, you need to pray against it!

Make it a point to Pray throughout your day without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Pray for your spouse, pray for your children, pray for yourself, pray for your family members, etc. Pray to the Lord for guidance, direction, discernment, wisdom, and everything in between!

Scriptures on Prayer:

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

James 5:16 “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Matthew 6:6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”
