Positive Quote for the Week-It is Finished!

After celebrating Resurrection Sunday, I wanted to touch on what was meant when the Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed, “It is Finished!” Not only did the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ pay our entire sin debt (past, present, and future), but He also disarmed Satan and his entire demonic kingdom.

No longer would a believer have to be in bondage at the hands of the enemy but now every born-again believer of Jesus Christ has the power to overcome every single attack that the devil would throw our way. The enemy was wreaking havoc on believers of God, and they were slaves to the enemy and his tactics. That changed when Jesus stated in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Christ gave believers His authority to claim the victory over ALL the power of the devil stating that NOTHING shall harm us! This is such a powerful revelation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ is what is affording us to have: Salvation, deliverance, healing, protection, preservation, provision, and everything in between.

We can never dimmish or devalue what the Lord did on the Cross at Calvary, He did it because He loves every single one of us so much that He wanted us to have a chance at eternal life with Him in heaven. He died for our “just in cast.” That kind of love is completely unfathomable!

It is Finished meant:

The old covenant sacrifices and ceremonies were finished

Him living a sinless perfect life as God in the flesh was finished

God’s wrath that Jesus Christ had to endure on our behalf was finished

Th power that Satan and his demonic kingdom had over us is finished

John 19:30 “So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Colossians 2:14 “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”

Hebrews 10:12 “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.”

1 Peter 2:24 “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
